One of the most famous items of Hyderabad is bangles made of lac and set with different kinds of stones. A street close to the Charminar(also known as old city as its ) is famous for these bangles. Ladies come from all over the city to purchase them. The street is called Chudi bazar, chudi meaning bangle. It is said that right from teh time of the Quli Qutb SHahi dynasty, ladies from the royal families would purchase bangle from these very streets and hence the name. |
