This was at the nakki lake in Mount Abu, the mirage in the deserts of rajasthan. I simply saw this duck and wanted to click it (shoot would be politically uncorrect word to use here!) before I could say cheeze the duck duck dived into the lake and disappeared but I kept scanning the surface waiting for it to re-emerge. That it did and with a bonus held right there in its ebak was this this fish which meant lunch for it!

HI Aadiil, not only a good catch for the duck, but for your also.
Nice detail you got on minimal notice, it looks like you got this just as it broke surface.
TFS and your notes on this.

Bonjour Aadiil,
Beautiful catch for you and duck. But I think that it is you who had the most merit to have to think than it was going to arise and have patience this moment. Beautiful nstantaneous, cheer !

Hi Aadiil,

Great action shot.
Excellent timing and good reflexe, you had patience in his wait to return the surface and to give this beautiful close.
Congratulations

It's cormorant, not duck. Scientific name is (Phalacrocorax fuscicollis). This bird, also called Indian Shag, is a locally common breeding resident. It is found in wetlands of India.

Hi Aadill. Well timed capture both by the bird and yourself! Good clarity of this part of nature's food cycle. Good work. Murray.

PS This would be ideal on TrekNature too.
