Hi David,
A excellent photo with great use of technique capturing the splash perfectly. Great work on the lighting and keeping the details in the right spot. It is a pity that you got a little bit of noise in the shaded area and that the top of the splash in cut by the frame.

Good evening David,

Superb capture, I tried this a few weeks ago, my camera wont flash on multiple shots so I gave up. I did try in daylight but i dropped the ice cube and it seemed like two hours later before the shutter started clicking. I think I need to wait until I get new camera before I try again!.

I like the colours chozen here and the walnut was an excellent idea... (my ice kept melting)

TFS and my best wishes for your friend has his embarks on his photography hobby... I do hope you warned him of the addiction :-)

Few things I like about this one:
1. Good clear colours of the water,
2. Good sharpness of the spalhing water around,
3. Good framing that goes well with the clean and almost distortion free background,
4. And the thin frame that matches the water colour.

A walnut! In summer i prefer a cube of ice :)
