I need a wider angle lens!
This is the Wind Palace in Jaipur, India.
Scanned in photo. Darkened the sky for added contrast to highlight the beautiful building which is only one room deep -- it lets the wind through. A must see if in Jaipur.

Hi Ka,

Oh, I know that feeling! Needing a wider angle lense, or being able to dig a hole in the ground to be further away...

Love the shot, how it makes the whole architecture look massive. It will have looked massive anyhow, but your perspective just adds to that. I would have focussed on the second level, or get a bigger DoF, just to get the focus in a wider field. But still a nice shot!

Greetings, Dennis

Oh! I have a big panorama photo book of India, and it has such a wonderful photo of this Wind Palace on the cover. The photos in it never fail to amaze me, India is a beautiful country. I like the simplicity of the composition here, the low point of view, very central, and looking straight up to emphasize the height and scale of the building, making it just soar up from the bottom to the top. All the lines then from between the protruding elements of the building lead the eye up from bottom to top, creating a lot of balance. Nice rich contrasts and I like how you darkened the sky a bit to retain the blue a little more. The frame with the strip of white and the thick black picks up on the tones in the shot. Beautifully-done. Only thing I might pick on is the noise in the sky. But otherwise a great shot, TFS!

Beautiful capture. Excellent perspective, sharpness and details.
And you are right, a wide angle would have been good for this :-).

Hello Karin,

Yes, you definitely need wide angle lens to capture this "Hawa Mahal". Beautiful wonders from Jaipur build in the era of Mahara Jaysingh.

Scanned, but still good quality here. Nice details captured. TFS

Very fun picture. Indeed a wider lens would be better but you have a nice angle so that your picture keeps on getting higher. Great colors and nicely in focus.
Cheers
