Living The Ganges

Varanasi is a famous Hindu holy city situated on the banks of the river Ganges in India. It is one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, dating back thousands of years.
The culture of Varanasi is deeply associated with the river Ganges and the river's religious importance. The city has been a cultural and religious center in northern India for thousands of years.

These people were bathing in the river Ganges. For people like me, the river could be very dangerous because of the polution. For this boy and his grandma it's a way of live....

"...The Ganges, above all is the river of India, which has held India's heart captive and drawn uncounted millions to her banks since the dawn of history. The story of the Ganges, from her source to the sea, from old times to new, is the story of India's civilization and culture, of the rise and fall of empires, of great and proud cities, of adventures of man..."

In the emotions in their faces we can see they are enjoying the river.

Like the colors!

Bonjour Alex,
Good composition, complicity and happiness to find itself together to share the religion which them join but you are right underline in your note, the problem, of the water pollution of Gange. I have just a light reproach, I have the impression that you used a little too the reduction of the noise, but perhaps because you used a powerful zoom
TFS, regards
Corinne

What a lovely heart-warming capture! Beautiful capture of this family at what I imagine to be a very special moment for them. The smiles says it all. Excellent timing and POV. Well done and TFS.
