Child Labour

Hopeful eyes, pretty smile
Soft hands, million dreams
Isn't the identity of a child?
Then why do I see
Drowsy eyes, timid smile
Rough hands and shattered dreams

Deprived of their childhood
Crumpled by the workload
Burdened with responsibility
In such a small age
If they lose these wonderful days
Would it come back again?

There is so much to learn
So much to accomplish
Not being given enough chance
Fight for a cause
Raise your voice
Exterminate child labor

Do justice to them
Bring back their smile
Bless the million hearts

Dear Friends, Just look in the eyes of these children....Do you see any signs of childhood??? Not even a faint glimpse of JOY. They get up at four in the morning and proceed for work.they toil all day not even getting two morsels of food to eat.what for? their parents have six or seven children but do not have sufficient income to support their family.so they send their children to work in a cracker factory or a matches factory or a construction site. doesn't this seem atrocious? whose fault is it? what would happen to the child's future? these remain as million dollar questions! ! !

these poor children know nothing but the factory or the construction site. They are not only tortured physically but also mentally.In this so called modern world we think of only luxuries and more luxuries.but are we sparing some time to think about these very astonishing happenings in the society?
The answer is a flat 'no'.this is our society.who'll
do the reforms if we can't? we are all under the
shield of 'who cares' policy.isn't that too selfish?

think about those miserable children.isn't their
future not as important as your child's? its not
enough if we take a pledge in our classroom that 'all
indians are our brothers and sisters' we must all the
same help them out of this terrifying state..

we aren't aware of the dire consequences our society
will have to face because of child labour.first, the
literacy rate goes down, which will hamper the growth
rate of our country.second, as the children aren't
exposed to the outer world they will an easy prey to
moneylenders and many anti-social elements.the nation
as a whole will suffer.do we want this to happen?
certainly not! ! !
the extremely hazardous side of the chldren's lives
are not brought to light.those working in cracker
factories literally die for a living! ! ! ! what if the
factory blows up? the government will probably give a
make up money and wind it up. ut is that the worth of
the children? aren't we losing future engineersand
doctors who can make our country proud? these are
questions to be well thought over.
what is the government doing? it must take more steps
to improve the lives of these vulnerable children.
Our Indian society is totally indifferent towards them, but unless we get our acts
right it'll only be a blurred future for them! ! '

A very moving and powerful image. The expressions of the children speak volumes about their condition. The choice of B&W helps to foster the bleak atmosphere. Several good elements underscore the message, such as the basket of earth and the tools.
