The 15th August ... The Day to Cherish... The Day to be Proud of... The Day to Die for... India has lost a Million Great Lives so as to make me and U survive... Thanks for the Great Lives which are in our Memories Forever... 'HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY' people cause we live with the moment...

Today, taking the time to post "THE TIRANGA" in my way. I somehow interpret the colors of the Flag in a very different way... SAFFRON, I feel indicates the color of Purity... The color that reminds us of that Sacrifices.... WHITE, The color of Peace, The color of Love wherein different races thrive together... GREEN, The color of Beauty... The color of Safety... The WHEEL Specifes the different races... the different people who make up India... I LOVE MY COUNTRY AND I KNOW U LOVE HER TOO...

The Information abt. "THE TIRANGA" : The Indian National flag is also known as the Tiranga (तिरंगा), which in Hindi means TriColour. The Indian National Flag was designed by a freedom fighter, Pingali Venkayya.
Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, soon to become the first Vice President of India and describes "THE TIRANGA" as follows:
Bhagwa or the Saffron colour denotes renunciation or disinterestedness. Our leaders must be indifferent to material gains and dedicate themselves to their work. The White in the centre is light, the path of truth to guide our conduct. The Green shows our relation to soil, our relation to the plant life here on which all other life depends. The Ashoka Wheel in the center of the white is the wheel of the law of dharma. Truth or satya, dharma or virtue ought to be the controlling principles of those who work under this flag. Again, the Wheel denotes motion. There is death in stagnation. There is life in movement. India should no more resist change, it must move and go forward. The Wheel represents the dynamism of a peaceful change.

...................................................
PP : Included a couple of pictures (7) of Flowers, People, Tigers, Buddha statue, Tank Bund Reflections, and the Flag which I made it myself. Sorry, Couldnt replicate the wheel. I downloaded it as I dint want a mistake. Combined the images and made a Multi-Exposure in Picasa. Then imported it to Photoshop and Used Levels so that all the pictures are well seen... I felt that the flag was not seen so, I selected and filled the colors. Then Placed the wheel and set the opacity for both of them. I wanted the colors to be more evident so, Used the paint bucket at a value of - 28 filled the respective bands with the respective colors hence, the paint takes the effect... Thats it. Applied the frame and resized it for TL! It took me 2 and 1/2 hours to do this but this has certainly made me Proud. :)

What do U think? Do Lemme know...

* The images used were already posted on TL! *.

CHEERS!!! and HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY TO ALL OF U.

Nice work, Hima! At first, I thought it was a flag painted on a wall, showing its age. Good PP work, worth the long hours you spent! Excellent and Happy Independence Day!

Hi Hima, A very skilful creation here. Just like Pierre, I also thought that you captured this painted on a wall or something. Great job and a happy birthday to your great country.

Hey Hima,
First of all a belated Happy Independence Day to you and all in India (here 15 is today).
I like your creative idea of posting our flag in a way that it tells the story of struggle. It looks like it is an original flag with the sweat and blood of martyrs, which has dried in time. Anyways in any shape 'TIRANGA' is beautiful and respectful for me.
TIRANGA UNCHA RAHE HAMARA.
Ayan

An excellent collage Hima. It shows great patriotism and the struggles behind the Tiranga's past. TFS, Paul.

Happy independence day to you and all of India. You have put together a nice piece of work in both thinking about your subject and implementing it. Nicely Done, TFS... Sam

This is wonderful, Hima! I love the blends of colors and images, and I appreciate your well-thought-out interpretation of the colors. Excellent work!

Happy Independence Day!
Gayle :)

Hi Hima,
Very good work! I like the merge of all those pics into your flag. And also how you removed bits of color. This reminds me a little of how paint chips from metal surfaces. Very cool.

Hi Hima,
Nice PP work! Did you know that the Hungarian flag looks almost the same??? same stripes with same colours but red on the top and of course a different coat of arms in the middle!! :)
cheers
ToM

hima,
I liked your PP work here very much, great notes and the compo is well defining the idea.especially the upright part of the compo is really unreachable in mood.
