Traditional Food
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This picture was taken at Situ Babakan, a traditional village for conservation of Betawi cultural heritage, at southern outskirt of Jakarta. Betawi community was native to Jakarta, however, at present, they are pushed out of this capital city, mostly due to economic reasons.
This guy seems to be just graduate from high school, as seen from his high school t-shirt which are full of his friend’s signatures [this becomes a new ‘culture’ in metropolis of Jakarta amongst high school graduates]. Now, he is selling a traditional Betawi food, called ‘kerak telor’, which is basically an egg omelet with moderately hot spices.
This photo was framed with a look-like edge of 35-mm slide film. Other post-processing done includes cropping, sharpening, and color adjustments. |
