Pura Besakih - the Mother Temple
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Pura Besakih is not only known as the Mother Temple, high on the slopes of Mount Agung.
It is also well known for all the hustlers, protection officers, police officers, sellers and straight-on thieves, trying to get a buck out of every step you take... Best is to take the higher left parking lot and drive up as far as you can, ignoring everyone who tells you to park at the lower place - which makes that you have to walk further. Once out of the car, fully ignore anyone talking to you and just continue straight up.
It all gets better - and it is all worth it - once you get this view of the 35 shrines and halls scattered all over the slopes of Mount Agung!! This is the main shrine, which I accidentally entered - and which seemed to be forbidden... I fortunately only found out after taking some decent shots! ;-)
I already started a Bali travelogue on TrekEarth, but I also want to share some (different!) pictures on TrekLens - though sometimes from a same burst of shots. |

Interesting capture of good subject matter here Dennis. Well metered and composition works quite well, with the lead-in at lower left of the table, and the sculptures placed in accordance with rule-of-thirds.
Thanks for sharing

Hello Dennis, good note. It looks more like a buffet than a shrine ! Good exposure and sharpness, thanks !

Hi Dennis,
Good capture of this typical scene. The colors of the fruit nicely contrasts with the black temple. TFS
