[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A photograph with a detail of the chimes used in the Balinese religious rituals. This one was take at Pura Besakih, the mother temple.

Pura Besakih:
Pura Besakih is not only known as the Mother Temple, high on the slopes of Mount Agung. It is also well known for all the hustlers, protection officers, police officers, sellers and straight-on thieves, trying to get a buck out of every step you take... Best is to take the higher left parking lot and drive up as far as you can, ignoring everyone who tells you to park at the lower place - which makes that you have to walk further. Once out of the car, fully ignore anyone talking to you and just continue straight up.
It all gets better - and it is all worth it - once you get this view of the 35 shrines and halls scattered all over the slopes of Mount Agung!!


I already started a Bali travelogue on TrekEarth, but I also want to share some (different!) pictures on TrekLens - though sometimes from a same burst of shots.

Hello Dennis, good idea with that lovely composition but there is so much out of focus details that I get lost in it. Maybe you should have shot it at f11 or smaller to get what you wanted. Anyway good image !

WOW Dennis! I can only imagine the sound! I LOVE chimes, bells, wind chimes! They are marvelous! I really want one of those HUGE wind chimes, with the pipes that are 6 or 7 feet long, about 3" in diameter with a Gong that is as big as a plate! The sound is just amazing!

Ach ja, en soms weet je dat je opgelicht wordt maar gun je die mensen gewoon wat extra's.
Heel mooi dat gelakte houtsnijwerk en die chimes. Waard om je door het mijnenveld heen naar boven te werken.
