Hi Jan,
Amazing scenery, this view almost appears like you're in a plane or helicopter. Such great rolling green hills, can see the early morning sun slowly creeping its way around the mountains. The dramatic looking clouds hovering above are very effective too.

Hoi Jan,

Schitterend landschap èn een schitterende foto.
Wij denken nog vaak heel dankbaar terug aan deze geweldige streek; wàt een uitzichten!
Het is al weer 10 jaar geleden (wat gaat de tijd toch snel...!) dat wij hier waren; misschien hebben we ook wel over deze weg gereden.
Tussen Medan en Parapat hebben we toen overnacht in Brastagi. Daarna hebben we 4 dagen verbleven op Samosir (Amborita).
Wat een schitterend land....zucht......
Heel hartelijk bedankt voor deze fijne herinnering!

PS: ik heb effen op Google Earth gekeken: deze plek ligt aan de andere kant van het Toba Meer dan de route die wij destijds hebben gereden.

what a beautiful shot. The view is amazing...Wonderful landscape with nice hills, roads and mystic sky. I like the play of light and shadows on the hills, soft light coming from above, excellent composition and colours. Very relaxing and moody image.

A beautiful romantic landscape, glad that you dug this up from your archive. Impressive especially after reading that you took this in a bus and now I do understand the tech settings chosen. The well defined clouds, the outline of the mountain layers, and the symmetry of the terraced crop furrows are the highlights of this composition. TFS and greetings from Wash D.C.

Wow, what a spectacular view Jan. That little skinny road down there would make me nervous! The scenery though ...must be well worth the trip! Beautiful capture from the fantastic perspective.

I've been to Lake Toba a couple of times, & stayed at Lekjon, on Samosir Island. A superb high pov, with good sharpness. Perhaps I'd boost contrast & saturation slightly. Tfs!

Stunning landscape under this beautiful light. I like the cut-out of the mountains slopes which gives a great depth at the image. I learned a lot with Wikipidia about the christian Batak people and the history of their country!

Missed this picture from you. Although the sky looks a bit unrealistic the overall impression is wonderful landscape. I almost can feel the humid air well shown in this view. Nonetheless a well captured landscape view of an attractive country!
