[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This lake was formed by a cataclysmic volcanic explosion, about 75,000 years ago, according to the geologists. Today, there are hot springs bubbling at a few minor locations around the crater wall, & all is quiet. Samosir Island, the new cone that rises up through the middle of the lake, can be seen at left. It, too, is quiet, for the time being. Taken from a speeding bus at 1/500 th second. There was not much I could do about the cloud shadows. Polarised, 28mm lens.

Hi Chris,
thats a marvelous view over this beautiful lake. The colours, the reflection in the water and the pretty clouds, it's perfect, also your POV. I visited this place 1992 and I loved it.
You gave me so nice memories, thank you very much, bye

Hi Chris, another great landscape of yours! Such beautiful blues here, and well composed with the landscape drawing our eyes throughout the photo.

Very well done! Yan :)

the colours seem out of this world! So much beauty, THANX, M (*_*)

If I see you name (URL) I think yes!! What part of Asia will he show today. Again a nice piece of this planet and capture so well. What kind of collection must you have? Great.

wonderful landscape Chris,a pitty for the shadow cloud,it makes it a little to dark , nevertheless a very nice view , maybe I would have tilted it a little to the left to straighten the horizon..

A nice capture of the exotic coastline and an excellent scan with perfect contrast control.
