Boats in IR photography
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
For those who love IR photography, here I present of my collection. I took a shot on my camera with filter IR attached to the lens, of course in RAW mode and then did heavy PP work. My cousin loves fishing and therefore he provided himself with trolling fishing boats. One of them as seen here was a 42 ft boat called "SeaHawk", a fast boat and sophisticated. He often asked me to accompany him on fishing, catching for marlin - me myself hmm I can't do fishing - I just there for one thing I love to do - photography.
Techniques :
When doing IR photography with digital camera is much more easier and digital will always make false colors feasible as you like.
Always take the shot in RAW, you may do custom WB with filter IR attached if you wish to, but it is not a must. The easy way to do just put in auto WB and then change the custom WB in RAW converter.
Next you do autolevels, sharpen if required and then go the most important part - channel mixer - swab the red to 0 and blue to 100 and vice versa in red and blue channel each.
The other falso colors can be obtained with selective color or hue stauration.
You may need to accomplish your work with layer masking to get everything done gently.
Enjoy!
And for those who want to try good luck!
