.

Very rare can see this species, and saw only few of them in the Safari Garden when I visited early this month . . We call it Babi rusa, but somehow it becomes generic name BABIRUSA . .

Babirusa or pig-deer is a pig-like animal native to Sulawesi and surrounding islands of Indonesia. It has two pairs of large tusks; enlarged canine teeth that curve back up through the top of the snout.
This species is considered endangered.

Crop, conrast and resize . .

Thank you for viewing it.

Cheers,
Tjutjut

Hi Tjutjut,
The mix of tones is perfect,

Phil.

Hi Tjutjut!
I like that the most bright part of the picture is at the three teeth, the point that makes this animal special...
Nice exposure and sharpness.

Have a nice day

Hello Tjutjut,

Wow, the nature has so many interesting things to explore. And you have brought such an interesting animal in this post which was not known to me before. Good composition and mystic luminosity is enhancing its charm. Excellent shot my friend, well done.

Thanks for sharing this image.

Great sharpness and details. I think that the environment/ background behind it is a bit dark, which can be fixed with levels or curves. I will do a small workshop. :)

Bonjour Tjutjut,
Je ne connaissais pas cet animal... c'est chose faite grace à ton portrait.
J'aime beaucoup le côté sombre de l'arrière plan, cela renforce la couleur de l'animal.

Wow, is this real? I've never seen an animal like this in my life. Reminds me of javelina in the desert states in the US which can be quite dangerous if a pack of them come after you. Many stories came out of the mountains. Good technical merit, also, other than not showing the whole animal. TFS.

Hi Tjutjut:
Amazing capture with excellent close-up framing...
I think I would have made it a little lighter, but this on has its own appeal!!!!
Super post!

Hi Tjutjut
Great shot, brilliant POV a shot with a tuch of action in it, one only have to use ones imagination. I would have liked it a little lighter, but that fact dosent change that you have done a good shot. Compliments and TFS.

Jens.

OUCH!! The teeth through the nose there...that hurts!! What an amazing animal! I would not want to meet him on a dark road! Very nice sharpness Tjutjut! Superb shot!

Hi Tjutjut, This is a mighty fine composition of BABIRUSA. Thanks for posting this as I have not seen this species before. The composition is very appealing with lovely texture and the horns are quite prominent. Best wishes, Danilo

Hello my friend

Another fantastic shot here, I really love the dark colour and tones. Razor sharp image DOF is absolutely spot on. Just one small thing I would have liked to have seen more of his back in the shot.

TFS hope your having a good weekend

Very impressive camera work here - perfect exposure on the tusks and letting the rest fall were it may works for me. I checked the WS and I much prefer the original. I would want a lens of this lenth in this situation. Well done.

Thanks for the comments on McDonalds.

Hello Tjutjut,
Lovely sharp and crisp capture!!!
Babyrousa babyrussa, It has two pairs of large tusks; enlarged canine teeth that curve back up through the top of the snout. Most experts agree that babirusas are part of the pig family, and are one of the oldest living members of the family, representing a subfamily, Babyrousinae, that branched off from the warthog branch of the pig family Subfamily Phacochoerini. What is also interesting is that the Canine teeth grow that big and curvy *(males) that they actually kill the grown animal, puncturing the scull. It is considered one of the living fossils.

JJ
