Beautiful photo, no doubt.
But, as you say yourself, its a cliched sunset photo. Nothing any of us haven't seen before here on TL.
This one has a very dramatic sky but not much else to make it interesting. That's the hard part with sunsets I think. I would almost say that a great sunset photo should be great even if it was shot in daylight without the sunset.
To make this shot truely great I would have liked to see some foreground of interest exposed to give it as much detail as the sky. That's obviously very difficult considering the difference in light but that's where one has to make a trade off or use the available techniques, like filters, exposure blending or, for the extremists, HDR, to deal with the dilemma.
Anyways, good sharpness and detail in the sky but to me it lacks detail in the forground and also something to make it interesting compared to the trillion of other sunsets here on TL. The composition is reasonable but I wouldn't call it outstanding. As for the colours I'm curious as to what your white balance setting was because to me the photo seems wee bit too orange.

I think you might have made a better photo had you kept your feed dry and only kept the silhouettes of the palm trees as foreground with the dramatic sky as a backdrop.

I'll give you 1 point because I think you can do better.

Must say though, the thumbnail did catch my eye and the deeper, purplish hues of this sunset struck me as being unusual.

And ... it wasn't Angkor Watt.

Well, it may not have been a great week, but it seems that you did finally get something of the mystical Bali that you went looking for.
I love the light in this -- that magical moment or two before the sun disappears. Amazing light and colours here and not totally cliched - I like the one lone figure down there in the water. Were you standing in the water too?

Now this is very strange. I wrote the critique on this a few days ago and it is gone? I was almost the first one. I guess now with all the other things being said already there is not much for me to add , except I do love that lone figure in the water, it just makes this very interesting and well done image even more interesting. Lovley colours and tones.
