Hi Folks,

Another shot taken during a brief vacation in Bali last weekend - a surfer at Kuta Beach.

Briefly from the Net about this popular beach:

With a long, broad beach on the Indian Ocean, Kuta was originally discovered by tourists as a surfing mecca.

The 5km long arcing white sand stretch of Kuta is still arguably the best beach front on Bali. The beach is safe, partially clean, well-maintained.

Kuta is far from the fishing village it once was: it is now a Pacific resort and its streets are clogged with traffic, particularly during the peak seasons of July and August.

The northern beach resorts of Petitinget (within the greater Seminyak area) and Kerobokan are in many ways more laidback versions of Kuta, less crowded and more suitable for longer stays. Further north still, Canggu and Dalung offer even more tranquility.

Kuta is now the party area of Bali and most clubs are lined up on Jl. Legian. Also it's the base for every backpacker who starts his/her tour around Bali.

You should crop the person in the FG, then you get a perfect sports picture. The pose of the surfer si perfect and the water drops well seen.

Wah . . menikmati Kuta nih ya?
Moment nya tepat banget . . hanya kepala orang yang di bawah ini agak mengganggu . .
Speed sekitar 1/1000 sec mungkin sudah cukup, sehingga aperture bisa di set ke angka lebih besar . .
Dan surfer tsb akan nampak lebih jelas . . Semoga membantu . .

I would prefer not to include the FG person to make this a really good sports action shot.

I like the freeze of the pose and the water splash.

this captured was good, your shallow focus on the surfer was good, with the clearity of the sea water splash also nice. The face expression add bonus in this picture.

Assalamualaikum,
Saya te'ingat pula tu skil metering yang 'lain dari yang lain' - khas untuk tone kulit Bali. Ngam timing - ekspresinya cantik, percik air menambah seri. Cumanya, macam kawan-kawan cakap, mangkali brader yang jadi foreground tu ada siiiikit inda ngam. Saya imagine lain pula ni, kalau satuuurang saja tu surfer, inda da yang depan dan yang saaana belakang mungkin lagi cun.
