Kito san he,
TL ni youkosou. Welcome to Treklens.
I would rather write to you in Japanese, but as it is a multicultural site, I will write in english...
When you take a portrait, try to focus more on the person or on a particular detail (face, arms, back, shoulders, etc). Here, you have too much empty space (this picture may work if you had a natural background but it is not the case here).
What would I have tried here is to take the picture vertically, because you don't need to see the bed and sheets. I made a workshop to show you what I am thinking of.
In your note, you write "I"; is it you or do you mkae this person speak? Try to be a little bit more prrecise when you write notes. you do not need to write a lot, but stick to the important things. A lot of members here, as me, think that notes are important to explain your choice. Of course it is not compulsory, but it is always better to leave a few words.
Also, notice that in this site, you can upload pictures up to 800 pixels for a size of 300kb. Did you try this?
Hoping this young boy will achieve his dream quickly... Life in hospital is really not comfortable (for the boby and the soul).
Go on shooting and enjoy this site!
de ha,
Damien.
