i made this effect by setting the lens to manual and move it back and frontward. no digital effect on the motion. used PS to change it into black and white.
i must say, that i was lucky to take this shot when he is holding back the ball facing straight to the camera. |

Very creative...I first thought it was a Radial blur applied in Photoshop, but after reading your note, I'm even more impressed!
What a great experiment! My Mother (Cloverstar) and I will have to experiment with this technique! Thanks for sharing.
