Here is a Hot Spring Town named "Ginzan Onsen" far away 3.5 hours by train and tranfer 40 minutes by bus from Tokyo.
Silver-bearing ores were discovered in the 16th century in this area, and it prospered for a
long time as the silver mine, so "Ginzan" means silver mountain.
It became a hot spring inn street where the look of Taisho Era(1912-1926) was left now. The town shone on is in the gaslamp and the fresh green, the autumn tint, and the snow scene, etc. have various expressions by the season a rich emotion it.
There are about Ten small inn(Ryokan) in this Hot Spring Town.

hello mikio, great winter capture of the town. great informative notes.
i believe the night scene shld be interesting too when the gas lamp lightup.
Well taken photo; good geometry and contrast only some lack of sharpness. I like how is make the difference between the central side – almost b&w – and the laterals.
