If trouble happens
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
If any of you are looking at my picture[s] for the first time, what I am showing here is a story, like Life magazine used to do, of a place called Air Police [AP] Alley in Cold War Japan. The Alley is where GIs came to drink, play and get women. I tried to capture the spirit of the place, and those who worked and played there with my photos.
If you go back and look at all of these photos, it will make more sense.
In this picture I show the Air Police, who usually kept at a distance, but if trouble happened, as it sometimes did [bar fights, racial incidents, arguments] they were ready to put things back in order.
Here they are in "ready" mode. A "mama-san" walks by ignoring them as they have no impact on her world. The shot is deliberately dark and contrasty. |

Your images are all very telling, I really like where you're going with this and very much appreciate you sharing them with us amateurs! I find your story here inspiring. Think it's time I commit to a story of my own. Hmm now where do I start?
Beatiful capture, great image from the past.
