GINKAKU_JI ...the silver pavillion
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hello.
This shot was taken in Kyoto,Japan.
It is a PP work about a scanned photo which dates back march 99 with a film camera Olympus Miu II.
Here you can see the Ginkaku-ji or silver pavillion...
...one of Kyoto's most breahtaking sites;unfortunately it is usually swamped vith visitors jamming the narrow pathways...you can see!
It is also known as Jishoji,a temple of the Rinzai school.
In 1482,shogun Ashkaga Yoshimasa consructed a retirement villa from the turmoil of civil war.
Altough its names translates as "silver temple",the scheme to completely cover the building in silver was never carried out.
After Yoshimasa's death,it was converted to a temple.
There are wonderful gardens :pond gardens and dry gardens (kare sansui) designed by the painter and garden designer Soami
in PP...
crop,resize,B/W,contrast,light,shadow,sharpness,frame,font.

Hello Francesco,
Excellent!
I like your treatment of the photo, it have a kind of "old style", very cool!
Marc.
Great PP work Francesco but I think with this one perhaps you should have stuck with the coloured version. TFS

PS many thanks for your comment on Velvet Morning
Hello Francesco,
I like the old look of this photograh as well. My Great Aunt went to Japan in the 1970's and this reminds me of here pictures from that trip. The the Ginkaku-ji is nicley framed by the trees and I like looking to the corner of the structure. Very nice.
Peace and Love to you always!
Kevin
great PP Francesco
