sadly, realisticly, I think NEVER, Chris, there's too much power at stake, we make our own happiness and peace... thanx, M (*_*)
Great shot, Chris! Striking composition, the man leading to the sign leading to the dome. On top of that, a beautiful daw or dusk light. Splendid work!

Hi Chris,
Sad memories of what war can do... :(
The answer to your question is "Never". Unfortunately human beings are greedy and bad.
Great composition to remind us History...
Take care

Wow good job. The picture was sad before I read the notes. It is really sad to think how long the list of fatalities is...
you really captured the mood!

you capture here very well the sadness and strong feeling of this site,
the color of the sky is for me the strongest part in the moody effect, then the man on his knees to light the candles....
really strong moody remebering shot!!

It was the first thing i heard that morning when the radio wakeup me. 5 years after they are to ask if its really Irak or USA who made the destruction of USA. Anyhow who is do it... The question is not there... Better to stop that war to make something constructive finally...
Nice scene! The ruin behind is excellent for the photo. It was a nice building in a certain time i'm shure! Good choice for the song. Ho! It was Hiroshima who did that! I was believe in a fire at first!

I don't really think people learn that easily Chris. It's just to loom outside to realise...
But I also an optimistic that see good in many, a strong will to change...
beautiful image and very important message: peace to us all.
TFS!
take care, Stef :))

Very nicely captured, Chris, full of symbolism. Nice light in the sky and good composition with the man in the front leading to the ruined building. Well done!

I immediately thought of John Lennon's Imagine when I saw the title. Very powerful song to go with this image. Honestly I think it will get worse. People are becoming more and more intolarant and aggresive. Money and power are the only gods in many peoples lives. Stunning sky and and the light of the candles does add something peaceful to the image. Forms a very dramatic contrast with the dome.

Superb image and composition Chris .
Sad reality.
I have to agree with Magda, Never....
'' La fin justifie les moyens '' or if you prefer The end justifies the means.... is often the good excuse for our governments to justify war measures. And who controls them.....
Power is too important to consider the loss of thousands of people. Paradoxally, beyond measure retaliation acts are often set up presumably to protect freedom and peace. Go figure!!!
Peace ?
Personnally, we make our own happiness and peace around us. It is a start.
As it was the anniversary of 911 too this week. I invite you and members to have a look here .
Thanks for the hope, as we must have hope that something will change. But it is in each of us to make it possible.
I am glad TL is a great platform to share knowledege and our daily life with people from all around the world. Keep on the good work.

Chris,
GREAT photo, GREAT notes. I love the lyrics and the image that has a 9-11 tribute in it. They were both tragedies and I have found the Japanese people to be the most respectable culture I have encountered.
I wasn't around for 8-6-45 but I regret that so many people lost their lives. I was alive for 9-11 and it changed the world also.
Great documentation of this tribute to lost lives.
Wonderful composition.

Excellent Chris and my favourite Lennon song. I have never seen these ruins taken so close before. Good colour and lovely light. TFS,
