[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Here we are, a blue lake beside the volcano. I'm wondering why it's blue in color. If it's because of copper, where do the copper come from? I can smell mild sulphur but does sulphur produce bluish water? Anyone mind to explain, chemist etc? Anyway, this is really a sight to behold. It's a shame that my camera does not has a wide lens. else i would be able to capture the entire volcano together with the lake.

Enjoy the azure lake.

Hi my friend,

Beautiful composition. Lovely details and great action especially the steam at the BG. The blue colours are amazing and lovely partial reflections in the water captured.

Hi Hong

Another great view of NZ, almost postcard shot. The gas white contrasts well here, excellent water green and color mix dotted along the road path. Excellent composition and work.

TFS, cheers

Hi Chern. A beautiful alpine composition. The colour of the water is outstanding. Malachite, a copper carbonate mineral has the same colour, so am sure you are on the right track with your comments. Good series of a little seen Japan away from the cities. TFS. Murray.

Hi Chern,

beautiful photo. I love the composition as well as the colours. Good scale effect thanks to people visible within the frame. As of panoramic view: I know that sometimes we strongly miss the proper lenses, but there is stitching software allowing collation of several photos, resulting in wonderful panoramas, otherwise impossible to obtain. Give it a try... *s* As of another crop: I definitely prefer this horizontal orientation. tfs

Hi Chern

Marvellous reflections in the caldera lake with good colour & sharpness. I like the 3 fumeroles. Tfs!
