Mother

Mother, do you think they'll drop the bomb?
Mother, do you think they'll like this song?
Mother, do you think they'll try to break my balls?
Ooooowaa Mother, should I build a wall?
Mother, should I run for President?
Mother, should I trust the government?
Mother, will they put me in the firing line?
Ooooowaa Is it just a waste of time?
Hush, my baby. Baby, don't you cry.
Momma's gonna make all of your nightmares come true.
Momma's gonna put all of her fears into you.
Momma's gonna keep you right here under her wing.
She won't let you fly, but she might let you sing.
Momma's gonna keep Baby cozy and warm.
Oooo Babe.
Oooo Babe.
Ooo Babe, of course Momma's gonna help build a wall.
Mother, do you think she's good enough,
For me?
Mother, do you think she's dangerous,
To me?
Mother will she tear your little boy apart?
Ooooowaa Mother, will she break my heart?
Hush, my baby. Baby, don't you cry.
Momma's gonna check out all your girlfriends for you.
Momma won't let anyone dirty get through.
Momma's gonna wait up until you get in.
Momma will always find out where you've been.
Momma's gonna keep Baby healthy and clean.
Oooo Babe.
Oooo Babe.
Ooo Babe, you'll always be Baby to me.
Mother, did it need to be so high?

(Pink Floyd-The Wall-1979)

I took this photo of a Japanese Macaque (also known as a Snow Monkey) at Ueno Zoo (pronounced Wayne-O) in Tokyo Japan. I liked the pose and thought I'd give it the title of my FAVORITE Pink Floyd song. I am not very good at recognizing the sex of a macaque by this side kind of shot but if it wasn't the mother, it should have been! :)
I did add some sharpness and cropped into it to bring the subjects closer. I hope it doesn't affect the quality much.
This will probably be my last post of the year.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Scott

Hi Scott, great scene you captured here, like the colors and the lighting. The dof gives it a 3D feel with the background.

I wish I could express myself in English as I think in Spanish. There is a lot of tenderness in this photo "mother and child" looking at each other, touching. It is great how we can see such a lovely scene even among animals. TFS

This is a great capture!! There seems to be alot of 'communication' between this mommy and baby. TFS

I have to tell uyou... We live in a primitive world! Human talks... But in the future they will be savage animals... Let me show you Ape's Planet movie...

Seriously they really like philosophical cheating!
Great shot!

Happy Holidays Scott!!!

Funny and Indeed a very cute post. The expressions are often amazing . Monkeys and gorillas are surprisingly human, or is it the opposite (^_^).

Pink Floyd..... As a young man , it was my first album ; Dark side of the moon ( 1972 ). Still a favorite after 35 years ! Music and lyrics are still so actual.

Sayonara .... (^_^)

hi, very communicative capture and added with an impressive note. excellent.

Hi Scott,
Missed some postings of you, sorry. This one is great, it's very hard to say but you camera handling is superb, sharpness, colour and contrast are fine. The pose of mother and child is addoring. One nasty remark though; the top part of the image , the area of blurred wall is to large, A tighter crop will improve the picture in my opinion.
Nevertheless a fine posting my friend!
Hans

Ohhh Momma...you got a really PINK face!!!!.. you have over done it with the blusher!!..lol

Scott, what a really lovely capture, I love the colours, a great nature shot, very well composed..just wonderful.

I hope you can post some shots again soon... I bet you have hundreds of them just sitting waiting to be shared.

Best wishes for you and yours for 2008.

Dawn

Hi Scott, not a tit for tat response from me just that we have some of these monkeys here in Launceston that were gifted to the city by our Japanese sister sister. I find it hard to get the colours right on these and yet you have done it with ease. Nicely composed and a good song too even if I was never a real Floyd fan.

David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Brown Eyes’...I had never heard of a Rat terrier so went searching, what a lovely looking terrier.

This is a really good capture of expression. Both macaque have genuine look of bonding. The colours are rich, and the point of view, crop etc was well paid attention to. Well seen.

Maternal feelings are the same for animals or people!
Really lovely shot
Thanks

Man..she's really being tough on him..talk about tough skin.. ;)
Perfect rule of thirds, as well as lighting and details. A cute and interesting double portrait of these two relatives.

Scott,

Tender moment captured. Usually one doesn't see moments like this at the zoo. The sharpness and detail are very nice. The coloring of her face is neat too.

As a mom, I can certainly relate to talking to my sons like this.

Great shot! Lisa
