[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Just as we were leaving Gion, we stumbled upon this stunning Maiko, her male companion, and a horde of curious japanese amateur photographers... so we joined the procession for a while!!!

It appeared that the couple were 'visiting'... they would pop into houses along the street, would be inside for a few minutes, re-appear and continue along.
It was a real delight to see this Maiko and her companion, going about their lives... such a traditional custom, alive and kicking in modern Japan.
