this is my work for my study. i made a rimless frame glasses with the lens that can be light up.
i took it in my room with the lights out. it was difficult to adjust the focus since it was dark, so i set the lens to manual.
about the shutter speed, i aim it first at the light source on the lens to get higher speed. i could take it with a slow speed, but since i left my tripod at school and took this picture handheld, i had to make the speed higher.. |

Your experiment has worked out well. Good composition with only one lens visible. Your lighting technique is very nice.
Have you tried focusing on the lens before you turn off the light. It might work.
