Funny how we take for granted how our parents work for our benefit. They even sometimes do things we could only wonder. They work hard to give us a beautiful life if not better than theirs.

Love your parents and enjoy your time with them while they are still there.

Just a thought. :D

This was taken in Luang Prabang. I went inside a village and made friends with some of the people there. Laos people are friendly. I had a chance to come in to this house where I took picture of a mother making designs on a cloth to be made part of a pillow. The light was just so amazing. Thankfully she just let me be.

If you ever go to Luang Prabang, make sure you walk or ride the bike to go around. This is the best way to see the fullest of this place. You can see all the beauty in almost all the corners. Hehehe

I'd upload more. :D

Just an incredible shot Daryl! You get an award for this one! LOVE the tilt, the rich colors and the ambient light is so nice! Really excellent work!
On another note, I TOTALLY agree with Silke, this photo should be getting more attention. The only way to get people to see your work is to pop in, comment on their work and then folks get to know you and look for you! This is super work!

Very nice photo - excellent tones, shadows, and candid snapshot of this woman's daily life.
Well done!

Very nice picture of an ordinary event. The light is great, adding a bit of drama to the image. My only doubt is about the missing foot...hmmm....maybe if possible it could have been included - but honestly I donīt know if it would make difference, itīs just that it got me staring to this little detail. Nicely done.

I like this one Daryl, it's a real, true slice-of-life capture. Very good sharpness for the low light levels and slow shutter speed, with interesting context and details. Good composition, with excellent placement of your subject.
One criticism - the cropped-off foot at the ankle, although you had no choice I guess, with the confined space.
I agree with Silke - if you participate more in critiquing, your work will get more attention.

P.S. It deserves far more attention than it has received. The fact that it did not generate much interest on TL is due to the fact that, in a gallery of fine images, yours simply got lost. The best way to generate attention is to pay more attention to the works of others. Write at least 10 critiques every time you post an image and you will find that the photographers whose work you take the time to critique will be happy to come back and take a look at what you have to offer as well.

good light, great mood!
