[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The monks at this temple were really excited. One of them just bought a baby monkey. The monk took an ice cold shower, and put the monkey in with him. Here a young monk is holding the string around the monkey's waist. Everyone pulls the monkey around by this string. This baby broke my heart. He is shivering from being all wet and cold. He wants his mother. He purses his lips, stretched them way out and makes a mournful "whooooooooooo" sound. I did convince the monks to towel him off. They have no idea how to care for him. They mean no harm to the monkey, but I think the monkey needs cuddling, and to be back to his mother.

You have captured the light successfully...Light is impressive...Tones are great...Composition is also wonderful with shadows.

Can

Nice composition. It could have been croped maybe to avoid this car on background.
Nice colors and his eyes in the dark are really attractive.

What a fascinating and sad story you tell here. Aren't buddhist monks the ones that can't even harm a fly? And your photo really shows the boy's ignorance of animal welfare, and the poor monkey's suffering. I am amazed. I thought recognising suffering - also in animals - was universal. Great photo, Gloria.

Cool lighting. Cool Composition. Cool story. :)

I like this photo a lot.
Nice job.

Beautiful candid portrait, find the car in the background a little distracting so have done a workshop. The composition is excellent and the colours marvellous. Well done.

Interpol has launched an investigation into charges of brutal treatment of this little monkey. We'll follow the story! >:/

Very nice composition and the expression on the monkey and the boy.. Young monkey do need comfort and support, that’s for both of them :)

Hi Gloria,
that's soooo cute, I like the small monk with this tiny monkey.
I also think that was a poor monkey-baby without his mom.
But a lovely shot, I like the colours so much, thanks and greetings
