[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
'Patuxay' is a rough facsimile of the Arc de Triumph in Paris. It was built in the 1960's, to commemorate the independence of Laos from France. Rumour has it that funds for the new Vientiane airport were diverted to pay for its construction. Hence the nickname 'the vertical runway'.

Hi Chris,
Nice architectural shot. In a way totally unchrachteristic for Laos I suppose? This looks very European and (Christian?)where as one would expect more Indian/Asian style.

Hi Chris,

perfect, big colors here!

Sérgio

great comp and angle, what detail again, but what a sad story... thanx, take care, M, (*_*)

I remember this place well when I visited Paris, but getting to this Arc by foot was a nightmare because of the cars whizzing by. We both posted an arc photo today. This is good as it shows all the intricate details at the top. Well done.
