Fall in the mountains of Laos

This is the same waterfall a presented previously on TL, but now from a different point of view. Also changed the frame to create an artificial depth. The story is the same and for the one who didn't read it in the previous note here again:

Tat Kuang Si Waterfalls

Going to the falls. You can do it the easy way or you can do it the hard way. I did it the hard way. Hiking through the mountains of Laos I went with the Shoestring group to these wonderful fall near Luang Prabang in Laos. First I doubted to join the group cause such a hike is quite exhausting for the Baron (He’s too short for his weight). Anyway I decided to join the group cause the guide assured me this was a relative flat hike...the liar.

Well after hours of hiking, climbing and stumbling the Green Baron managed to get at the top and see a waterfall falling hundred meters down. Climbed down an saw this magnificent view. After taking some shots of the falls, I grabbed my swimsuit :-) and took a swim in one of the refreshing pools beneath the waterfalls.

Here my impression of this beautiful site.

PP-work:
Adjusted contrast, brightness and saturation. Minor crop, resized and sharpened. Add frame with text.

Hi Hans,

Again a very good landscape picture from your recent trip. From the shot it looks like an amazing place. Kingdom of Tranquility?

The frame is a bit to crowed IMHO but you did achieve a depth perception.

Gegroet,

Edwin

Hello Hansie

Superb capture, wonderful DOF and the colour in that water is beautiful. The framing works very well and gives the desired depth to the image.. like we are looking through a window into another world.

What a beautiful and colourful image. The soft atmosphere is just so lovely and the speed used gives the water a lovely look. I like the ”artificial” depth , as you say it does indeed make it look different. I love anything rain forest looking. An excellent shot as usual.

Bonjour mon ami,
it's a marvellous site which I discover while travelling with your photographs of tone beautiful travel. I like much the top of the cascade which makes like a well light.
And it emanates from the perfect colors of your photography much of serenity, it is imposing, a corner of paradise preserved on our planet.

Hello Hans

I wonder how you expose this shot with such balanced tone, it looks so comfortable with no harsh exposure and it really brings out the attractiveness of this place.

Ah... Different POV but the same beautiful, exotic waterfall... another grand view Hans.
Love the colors and the atmosphere.
Only thing missing here is the long haired beauty washing her hair under the waterfall...
Just beautiful!

Cheers,
Anneke

Bonsoir Hans
La photo en elle même est bourrée de qualités, mais je trouve le cadre trop lourd.
Cordialement,
Antoine.

Hello Hans

What a sight to behold. These are the kind of waterfalls I wish Northern California had to boast. I like you choice of composition and I think you did quite well to manage the dynamic range of light.

Hallo Hans,
Groet,
Adri

Stunning! A super romantic shot, Hans! Your framing works great to increase the illusion of depth.
Cheers
