Hi Folks,

The new year is just at the corner. How will life be in that year, no one can precisely tell. But scientists say ladybird bugs can foresee a climatic change six months ahead. I do not know about this fly; but like us here and out there, its beautiful compound eyes are sighting a brighter year ahead in 2009.

**********************

I believe this is the same specie as the one posted here yesterday. The only difference is the pattern and colour of their eyes.

Perhaps this one is a female because in animal kingdom, it’s the males who are more attractive, if the beautiful green compound eyes yesterday were an atraction.

Here I like the microphone-like details on the eye. It looks like a honeycomb too.

As I put in yesterday’s note, a slight change in aperture and a minute difference in the distance will greatly affect the depth of field in macro shots.

In the previous image, with an f-stop of 4.5 I got both eyes clearly and sharply captured. Here with a bigger aperture of f2.8, only one side of the eyes looks clear while the other one is in a total blur.

That tells how ultra sensitive a focusing is on a macro shot – something very interesting for me to learn about this genre.

Thanking you in advance for viewing and your kind words.

Have a safe and nice weekend.

Agoes

Hi Agoes,
Interesting POv of the same species. Good experiment with focal length, the microphone pattern is well seen on the eyes of the insect. Fine green background, keep shooting these amazing close-ups! TFS.
Greetings,

Salam Agoes,
sahabat kita Jusni akan pulang pada 4 Jan. semoga beliau mendapat haji yang mabrur.
This one is lovely, i just like the eyes.
Splendid and captivating presentaTION.

Salam Agoes.

A good lesson for macro optics users and the weird behavior are sometimes hard to predict especially the depth of field. You can see in my recent posts, I was shooting small aperture of f/20 to f/40 just to get the subject in focus. The compound eye here is very well focused with the gauze type texture so well visible.

TFS and have a nice day.

Jusni

Good morning Agoes,
Marvellous sharpness and details of that magnificent eye!
Wonderful macro and colors.
TFS
