This a magnificent sunset well captured! The warm colors and smooth shadows give a romantic mood, here! As you ask advice, (even if I do not feel very qualified to do it), I just want to tell you that the addition of some vignetting cans work well enhancing the mood and the depth of this kind of photo.

what is a better graphical way to say good bye to year 2008 than this image.
i love the mood here....it's just perfect....as the sun sets, the curtain of 2008 lowers.

as we all anticipate a brighter 2009, there were, of course, some good and sweet memories in 2008 we will be leaving behind.

Hi Bill,

The sunset is giving nice colors to the sky and is sending the rays of the sun on the water which is an asset to the composition. The point of view takes our eyes toward the mountains in the background which is giving depth to the photo. Have a nice day.

Your sunsets are a pleasure to look at Bill, i saw some other nice ones in your gallery , this one is pretty good , the boatman is a very valuable feature in this compo , he makes the shot so much more interesting !I know an excellent sunset from an ordinary one by the amount of details still visible in the bottom and second third of the frame ,here i find the man and his sampan still retain some fine discernible details as opposed in less attractive sunsets or sunrises as well are oftentimes overly saturated in the sky and everything else is silhouetted .
The angle of view is well chosen , light is well metered and your compo is without reproach , i like it just the way it is ,
Sarawak has great sunsets and this one is just perfect, Bravo ,
