co suppose to have a labour day function that morning, was cancelled due to death of minister's wife..so we went to a famous old shop for breakfast.. a small shop that you have to wait for at least half hour for your turn to order and another half hour for your food.. but the food is worth for the queue..
i bring along my camera and want to try my new lens. walk over the old town and toward waterfront. go down the jetty.. a man with his son were fishing there, his mother is jogging up there. i heard the little boy told his mother - be patient and ask her to walk few more round.. since like the little boy is the one lack of that, he kept on changing his position and walk around, weather was hot that morning. i was amused with that and shot a series of his pose...
background is dun building, new state assembling building that going to have it opening ceremony this july. a new landmark of kuching |

Very interesting view Jong. This looks like the same building that Bill showed us a few weeks ago! And yes, you can tell that it must be hot! You managed the light well though.
I think you could have cropped up a little higher - maybe gotten rid of a little more of the green concrete, but still .. a great shot with lovely colors.

Hi Chin,
A pleasing and relaxing composition with the man fishing and the child with a rather funny face!
Great lighting all over and sharpness is accurate!
Nice color saturation.
Well done.

Francis Xavier

hi Jong
You can tell this building is now known by people outside Malaysia :) Trudy obviously knew about the roof now.
You would still wait for 1 hr to get your breakfast in such a place? No, I would not do that again. I would not find the food that good for the queue, not even if it is free food.
Good to see you finally post landscape which is not often in your gallery. The lens quality is shown. I hope my suggestion did not disappoint you, although it cannot be used for film camera.
I see 2 dustspots at the mid left.
Composition wise, it is fine. Be careful with the extra space at FG [for this one, it is green color which is good for attraction of contrast], particularly the boy in shadow still visible with detail.
I would probably choose my crop at bottom left corner of the steel plate, then show more sky. If you had used 16mm, also try 11mmFL for a change of effect.
Sharpness and exposure is good.
