| this is taken on a boat ride in a swamp in johor...a tiny wetland snail slowly makes it way across the wood plank used as seats in the boat. this picture is taken with one hand holding the camera and another holding the snail. i didn't know the background is blurred until i viewed it on pc. i liked the unintentional effect. i hope i can get some feedback. |

The blurred background is what they call a shallow Depth Of Field (DOF). It can be obtained by using a wide aperture. And indeed, it is very fitting in this picture! Your shot is okay, maybe two things: the snail should be more sharp I guess, as it is the subject of your photo :) and perhaps a bit bigger size?... please :)?
The title is well chosen, wish anybody would be so gentle for animals ;)
eleen, the photo is nice. the choice of black and white is very wise here. I agree with nessuno about the DOF... you should'nt resize ur original photo until this small... somewhere around 800x600 is nice.. oh..btw, remember to cut your fingernails..!
