A Life Lesson
There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your doll, I know;
And your tea-set blue,
And your play-house, too,
Are things of the long ago;
But childish troubles will soon pass by.
There! little girl; don't cry!
There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your slate, I know;
And the glad, wild ways
Of your schoolgirl days
Are things of the long ago;
But life and love will soon come by.
There! little girl; don't cry!
There! little girl; don't cry!
They have broken your heart I know;
And the rainbow gleams
Of your youthful dreams
Are things of the long ago;
But Heaven holds all for which you sigh.
There! little girl; don't cry!

-this is another photo shot taken of kids living in abundance at urban areas...the poluted river caused many like her family who were fishermen to live in poverty...she is only 11, yet as her life story enfolds before me, i got a glimpse of maturity beyond years of pain and fear...
this post processed version will be the front image for my research project on the social and environmental impacts of rapid development in urban cities.
tell me what you think so i can improve:) thanks and have a nice day. |

Compliments Eleen. You have done something meaningfull with the picture and words.
the choice of Black and White is very wise.. the photo is well taken and the photoshop works is very good. i must learn more from you when i am free... the notes and explanations are very meaningful... and i like this photo a lot because of the 'meaning' of this photo..it really makes me wonder and think a lot of things... good job eleen!
Interesting idea Eleen. I see that there's quite a lot more scope to experiment here on TL, than on TE, which I'm used to. This is an effective idea IMO, with lots of possible interpretations for the repeated deminishing image.
Eleen, this is a poignant and touching photo and commentary. I am excited about your research project and future post. This is a beautiful little girl and you have deeply touched her soul with your portrait and PP and your poem. It is as tho she will soon "fade away" and most likely she will. Such a sobering thought. This is really very well done...:O)
hi eleen!very creative portret!i like the colours and the trippelity (k, i just sucked the word out of my thumb... :D)very nice! and i like the framing too.well done!
Hi Eleen,
You've captured the emotion nicely here and the note is very powerful! Thank you for sharing..
