Hello friends in TL.

I am posting another butterfly captured close to the swimming pool in the evening. Two gram blue were rather inactive on the fresh fern and this is one of them.

Euchrysops cnejus cnejus (Gram Blue)

The male of the Gram Blue is light purple whilst the female is rather heavily black-dusted with the wing bases pale shining blue. The underside is pale buff, with the usual lycaenine markings as spots and striae. The spots in the costal and basal areas of the hindwing are black and very distinct. The black submarginal spots near the tails are edged with metallic green scaling and inwardly crowned with orange. The species also possesses a pair of string-like tails.
The species is common in localized areas where its food plant can be found. The host plant is a creeper-like "pea plant" with three leaves on a node. The plant has yellow flowers and pea-like processes on which the female is often observed laying her eggs. The Gram Blue prefers open areas flying low on grassy waste places.

Regards.

Dear Jusni,
I was hardly ever get eviction notice from TE for any of my photos before. Probably finding a suitable home for my photo, prompted me to go and seek shelter for it from a sister website whom is much more accepting :)

I noticed there's a cult going among Malaysian photographers, whom would not let alone anything small with wings. The truth is, years ago I was just like everybody else, hunching low and crawling for that "bug" shot. But then again I realized.

I didn't know much what to write about them other than how to shoot them. I left TL and TN and stick to shooting landscape and just about anything worthy of TE and her audiences.

As for your works here at TL, it would be my reference notes for my bug works. Keep the library going, words and stocks.

Don't mad at me but I see that the fern tip is more in focus than the lovely butterfly. However, the background is one thing that I really "GRAM".. :) something I would always want to achieve on normal lens.

Assalamualaikum,
The color contrast had given this shot a real good impact. You have nice contrast between the butterfly, the fern and the background. You must have work it out carefully to find a nice pov and get this wonderful contrast.

Agoes punya komen ni buat saya gelak besar la pulak. Kreatif la brader kita tu.

Salam hormat,
Ramdan.
