Blue boaster

This Indian Peacock showing of in the Bird park in Kuala Lumpur. Quite an impressive guy!

Here I used a small aperture to create a sharp head and a blurred BG, so the head would stand out.

You've captured those phenomenal colours perfectly. I love how you can see every little detail on his face...so beautiful. It's a captivating photo with the texture of the feathers flling the frame, and I like the small DOF!

More than excellent work...

WOW!! What a beauty Hansie! Nice sharpness, excellent color, I like the perspective. Normally I would not suggest a bird, animal or person to look OUT of the frame, but in this case the best part of a peacock is BEHIND him!

Well here's my obligatory "back slapping point swapping" - I hope you appreciate it ;-) (sorry, couldn't resist following the comment you got from some numpty for daring to comment on my barn owl!)
Anyway, back to this picture - really sharp details, vibrant colours and I love the intensity of the peacocks stare out of the frame.
Thanks for sharing

Hi Hans
It is the peacock prettiest of all which I could see on TL.

Hi Hans, Part of the details in this photo remind me of a tapestry! Colors are gorgeous. I tried taking a photo of a peacock, but he wasn't very cooperative. :) Lisa

Hi Hans,
A fine example of nature "decoration" talents.
I actually saw a live one, during my visit in Florida state. I had a fully automatic camera, and the result of my shooting wasn't worth keeping..))
Fine catch here. Good colours and details. Nice crop and composition. I like those macro type shots. Well done my friend.

hello Hans

Standing close to the bird and shooting the colorful display of the feather will be a great experience for any photographer and you did a good job for this shoot. The hands must be fast and the composition is just instant without time to think, so I see a crop of the 2 eyes at the top.

Good macro close up shot from KL.

Hoi Hans,
Inderdaad, de kop is zeer scherp en mooi van kleur. Het beest kijkt verbaasd, maar dat komt doordat ie een hollander zag, denk ik.
Mooi helder plaatje met veel details.
groeten,
Joop!

good sharpness and colors
