[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
All men who have achieved great things
have been great dreamers.
- Orison Swett Marden -

do not estimate the power of dreams, for it is the window to limitless opportunities...when i was young i was a dreamer, every window of my soul is a new adventure, everyday is a new life, sometimes a fairytale, sometimes not as sweet yet also as fulfilling....

now the windows are shut,
for as we grow we lose sight,
we lose imagination,
and the ability to dream....
we are bound to common sense,
we do not know how to have fun
or laugh at the silliest things anymore....
maybe we did not realise, but slowly we built a solid wall with no more openings, no more room to dream, life has brainwashed us.....

now i wish i can reopen the door...to be able to dream again, to will myself into another world, which i became the narator, the storyteller, the script writer....real life is a tiring challenge...will i ever reopen the window to my soul again? buried so deep, where the dreams are now ashes, remains of a past life.....

this photo is taken in my hometown, nostalgic and sad, suits my mood today, being so tired of the hectic sleepless nights....where i wish i can stop and just let my imagination take me to places.....

hope all of u are doing well....have a nice day ahead! believe in yourselves...Your talent is God's gift to you,What you do with it is your gift back to God.

Wow...so inspirational...I love the note, it hit a tender part of my heart and soul. The picture suits the note very well.
Your composition, lighting, and colours are very good.
Don't give up on your imagination...it can still take you places if you slow down and let it...I know that it will come to you again.
Take care dear friend and cheer up....'to the world you may be one person...but to one person you may be the world.'
Ciao

It's a very strange window and despite being on such a damaged wall it is opened and has light, so there is still hope in such image. Your note is very special and is an important complement to the image. I think you are still a dreamer today, not just when were a child, I guess creativity comes also from our dreams, those you cannot do one, can hardly do the other.
Have a great day.
Ana

I love these kind of contrasts, you captured it well Eleen.
But why didn't you sharpen ? (it improves the picture dramatically)
Can't tell you about dreams... (caus' I don't)

Wonderful image Eleen . . . but I think the white frame really detracts from a fine composition. The textures are superb and the colors give it drama. The black outline helps . . . I had to try a workshop to see what Unsharp mask would do. I hope you find it useful.

Hi Eleen, you just gave me chills all over. This is a good thing. This photo and your note are very powerful. I see the outside surroundings of this window representing the tattered and worn gross(matter) human form. And the lovely open bluish window representing that core being. That trueself is masked over by the ego, which slowly closes in on the true childlike playfullness and freedom we come into this world with. Eventually you sort of wake-up and how did this happen, where did all that essence of being move to and where did all these closed doors come from.
For me consciousness is only the interface of the trueself. But along our journeys in life we shread apart our innerselve and compartmentalize aspects of our being which leaves us longing for our true state of freedom-that core. We become trained by life and society to shut the core down and only be the interface. This leaves most beings longing for there freedom of mind which to me is utter silence and void. That true state of being that comes from nothing which is everything and all. For me pay no mind but pay attention for that core, if you turn around long enough is right there. Wow, thanks for the spark. I hope I can return the favor someday. I will stop rambling now. I hope I have not taken away what you wrote for it is truly beautiful. Great great photo and comp with the textures and tones.

This is a nice image Eleen. For me, the window is old, rusty, and out of function which is a metaphor for our not using our dreams to push forward.

your notes area really great... i think ur picture here spokes a thousand of words, while ur notes speak a million of pictures... very touching and i can feel what you are trying to express here.. thanks for sharing this wonderful photo..that just make me wonder... take care.

Très jolie photo. J'ai grande envie de scier ces barreaux !

Great shot eleen and wonderful note. Love your composition but agree that the white frame is a little distracting. However the picture is very good great subject the open window on the decaying wall. This can be an analogy for lots of things. Well done.

Peter
