Incense sticks, at a Chinese temple in Ipoh, Malaysia. They are quite large too, being about 2 metres high. I liked the color & repetition.

Shot with a 300 mm zoom lens.

intriguing, I like the compression, makes it even stranger, well done, (*_*)

nice colorful photo of asian culture chris
these large incenses are used on special occasions, like birthdays of the gods and also during the "ghost month" which is around this time on the solar calendar :)

Hi Chris,

Gee ... truth is stranger than fiction. Its quite intriguing to say the least. There are so many things we dont know about the world. Glad we can see at least some of them over here at TL. Like you said yourself the repetition is pretty good. Add to that the background of the pagoda structure lends a very oriential feel to the picture.

My god! The size is incredible! How powerfull is probably the smell! It's for all the village around :o) The coros are great!

hi Chris! so you've been to my hometown! yeah this is a usual sight esp during festives seasons. i like the way u captured this, showing partly the architecture and mostly the incense smoke...tfs.
