[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was walking around Komtar, Penang taking some shots of the tall Komtar building. I saw this old man, lying there beside a very busy main road with lots of cars and people passing by.
I felt so sorry about this old man, and lots more people around that area.. that are homeless, no money and no family.

I zoomed at him using my 10x Optical Olympus C730 camera and take this photo down. Enhanced the photo using Photoshop, and just wanto share with you guys. Hope you guys will always feel glad and happy that you are having a good life, with lots of great and loving people around you.

Critiques, Comments and Workshops are welcomed.

You just suppose we all have happy and comfortable lives... I guess some members will be lonely, some will have little more than their camera and this site to enjoy themselves, some might be disabled.
But I'm sure you ment well, and indeed, poverty is a shame (didn't the UN make a report stating that poverty will be banned by 2025...? I wonder...)
The background-pattern fits very well with the outstretched figure, while it contrasts in colourfullness. Well captured !

nice compo

Dear Thong, well observed and good accompanying note. The composition is very good and the background great for contrast and additionally for symbolizing the lack of "variety" in his life. Good work. Yours, Jan

Very good composition, you took a good advantage to use this door (?) as a background.
Though it is a sad picture there is a good color harmony in it.
Well done,

Liron.

That is some sad image you did here. the expression on his face is very very sad. I wonder what was he thinking at that time you took the picture and how did he end up to be like this. Good composiotion and color. and I love the note to your image.
thanx for sharing

In composition the horisontal lines are verry well for this picture.
Nice one.
I question if there was a bit more space on the bottem if it wer not better.
Poverty,...
Blame it on who, you can question.
You know the anser?
Nice done .
See you on planet tl!!!!!

Strong shot and interesting note !
But as there is nothing around him, it seems nearly that he is on a theatre stage. There is a sort of loss of reality ...

Hi, Ah Thong, this is just one of the sad story among many. It is very sad, his face says it all. Good capture.

Expression and strong composition by using lines and colors are impressive.

Can

The colours and composition of this scene is excellent. The blue shirt is outstanding against the beige colour of the metal door or shuuter or fence. Although it looks a sad picture, the man does not look to be starving, and maybe he is just resting a while. Very well seen.

Good capture Thong, but so sad to see. What can you do when you see this? Good composition, but poignant to look at.

wow, well done, Thong...you show a lot of sensitivity with this shot. i love the colours enhancement and the overall composition yet, i would prefer it if it's not cropped so tight especially at the bottom part. this is sad...makes us wonder sometimes as we develop further, are there more who benefit or more that are left out? another effect of negligience in the city. thanks for sharing:)

If I had to give a title to this I would call it "vertical" - I like the idea, the colors, the POV and the artistic flair with which this was put together, very, very well done!

Thong, this photo of yours reminded me of a photo I took last year. I even decided to post it, for I think the photos are really similar to one another.

As for your photo, although it shows us a sad situation, it's technically perfect. You did a great post-process.

My greatest fear in life, has been I will end up homeless someday..... living from day to day, just one little hardship more, and thee people are without anything at all...... I feel so bad for them, they often are the tuk tuk, rickshaw drivers of the world....... sleeping at night in the vehicle, or in a plast bag drop cloth tent with their family....

Hi Thong , I like very much the composition especially the background.I guess is a metallic door , closed like his life.Cold as those people around.Dumb as our fear of being alone. Congrats , Fernanda.

Excellent and provoking shot. do you use neat image?
