Hello friends in TL.

The Church Street Pier, for many years a run-down, abandoned pier, was recently refurbished. Built in 1897, the Church Street Pier hails from a more romantic era when the Penang Channel was a much busier waterway. You can stand on the pier and imagine the waterfront choked full with sampans, perahus, junks, steamships and cruise vessels of varying sizes. Today the scene at the harbour would seem more orderly and perhaps less picturesque.

Before the construction of the present ferry terminal, the Church Street Pier was used by motorcars. After that, it was used by small boats, before eventually closing down, a fate shared by other similar jetties that used to line the waterfront. Among the jetties that are now history include the Railway Jetty at China Street Ghaut and the Victoria Pier at Downing Street Ghaut.

Thanks for viewing.

Assalamualaikum Jusni,

i like he view here from a good pov, esp the marina at the backdrop.

just a matter of a personal preference, i'd love it more with less reflection on the water.

hey, no seagull here, eh...:)

Hello Jusni,

A nice seaside atmosphere with a touch of former days!
The rest of us living in other parts of the world have learned from the work of Kipling, Shute and others...
Good division of the frame, sharp fine details!

Greetings,

Hi Jusni

Wonderful contrast between the almost b&w water & colourful bg row of houses. Good pp work & sharpness with superb repetition of the posts & yachts. Tfs!

Assalamualaikum,
Walaupun kelihatan agak pelik, efek seperti ini (HDR?) memang ada keistimewaannya sendiri.

Pemandangan yang menarik dalam komposisi yang baik. Refleksi dalam air tu jadi penambah seri. Cantik.

Salam,
Ramdan.

excellent pov!! wonderful post! thanks
ciao Marco

agradables tonos y compo.
excelente trabajo,

Hi Jusni,

I like the whole composition of this shot. You've got the POV of this photo dead on. Water looks crystal clear and the colours from the building adds a good contrast for the whole photo. Don't you just wish there's a wee bit more colour in the sky? Still is a great photo.

TFS.

Regards,
Alvin

Hello Jusni
What a stryking effect in water wich color matches perfectly that of clouds!
I feel like approaching Venice, in Italy, on board of a gondola!
The oblique view of footbridge is quite inviting for a visit to colourful downtown.
Best regards.
Robert
Again I will leave for about one week.
