Ahmad Nazery a.k.a Jiboy.. one of my best friend in this world... my band's guitarist.. he is a funny and humourous guy..
Taken last month at a gig in Penang.. i asked him to pose for me..
Using Adobe Photoshop :
1. Converted to black and white (desaturate)
2. Luko Sharpening Method
3. Added minor diffuse glow on his face.
4. Adjusted curve to make more it more dark and more contrasts
5. Resized and Simple White Border.
Hope this turns out good.. as i already sent this photo to him..haha

This is a captivating shot simply because you can't tell very easily what you see on this chap's face. The range of tones you decided to use only underlines this uncertainty. Fear? Or just a completely neutral, not too willing pose for a friend who wants to take a picture? Eyes and features emphasized very well.. Interesting.
A very good portrait with great tonal range. The cheek is a little light though. Also, I think you (or he) could actually do a little more with the expression. Maybe it's just me, but he doesn't look like he's thinking anything at all, just staring into the distance. B/W works very well though.
beautiful portrait Thong! love the lighting and the rich b&w tones.. really great range of grays and the glow on the face looks lovely i think.. very intense yet subtle and really expressive.. great choice in framing too!
really well done :-)

Great portrait here. I can't see anything that would be needed with a workshop or really any criticism. You captured everything perfectly, great pose and excellent PS work. I'm hoping my D70 will get me some pics as nice as this one. Good work.
HI Thong,
you did a very good protrait of your best friend, so no need to fear his rage ;))
I lik ethe B&W and the sahdows and shades of grey really highlight his handosme traces.
Well done!
take care, Stef
