[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Sam Po Tong Cave temple is just outside the city of Ipoh, in Perak. This Chinese complex is built into the side of a naturally occuring limestone karst formation, by the side of the road, about 5 km south of town. There is also another cave temple on the nothern outskirts of the city.

The Chinese were brought to Malaysia by the British colonialists, in the 19th century.

amazing place. It reminds me when I was living near Tours those troglodytes houses near Chinon.

Nice use of the two red lines on the courtyard to lead the eye into the rest of the photo Chris. Thanks for presenting another fascinating place so effectively.

THis is the exact same design that I see just down the road here as I approach Manila from the south - but it's a restaurant! They serve sausages ... no they don't. Another lie.
I nearly bought a cave house in Spain but it didn't have this frontage. Much less grandiose.
Stereotypical Chinese and it could well be the entrance to an upmarket restaurant but I'll take your word for it.
Tomorrow, give us sharks...fin soup.

Hi Christ, Thanks for post this shot! it's reminds me great moment when i visit Ipoh. I like the traditional building that build at the cave much.... but ddin't take much photo on it coz time too tight when we arrived. Thanks Mate!!! Bagus Sekali!!!
