[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
hi all,
this is a taken today, during my site visit for a new project, to preserve an area that used to be a police quarters before the fourties, then demolished after the Japanese occupation. there are remains of many elements....and our assignment is to design a park, a camping ground.

i took lots of photos - very very quick shots - the mosquitoes were feasting on us:) this one i particularly liked.

i noticed the front part is not as clear as i wanted, but i think it's the best i can do, with a point and shot camera and the time contraint.

this particular root interest me because it is not on the ground, it was crawling all over a half demolished toilet wall, i will posted a zoomed out photo showing the tree as a ws tomorrow. hope u guys like it...if u noticed, i seldom post photos of nature, it's my weak point:) so i am quite proud of this.

no pp work

have a nice day!

Nice shot. It wasn;t clear that the root is crowling over a wall but thats for the info. I love the skin texture on the focused section of the root.

It's true that you don't do much nature shots, but I think you should do more :-) Despite being taken with a simple camera the textures and colours were well preserved. Good work.

Great detail and fabulous dof.

Hi Eleen, I like this angle very much and I dont have a problem with the foreground it pushes your eyes up the root. Pretty darn snazzy for seldom doing nature shots. Dont see any weak point here. Colors are warm/nice. I would just clone out the blue line in upper rght hand corner.

Michael

bonsoir eleen.
Ces racines sont magnifiques et le point de netteté est suffisant. Sans racine, sans origine nous sommes personnes ...

good evening eleen.
These roots are splendid and the point of clearness is sufficient.
Without root, without origin we are people...

Nature taken over earth....very nice shot , the low pov makes the composition stronger and was a good choice here !

yea..i too noticed that you seldom post photos of nature... but this one is really interesting and nice.. u certainly have a great sense of sensibility and siu-hei too... hahaha... the DOF is excellent.. but can be better and can be done in many different ways.. anyway.. thanks for sharing this nice photo.. i am going to kl now... have a nice weekend... -MgMug-

If you don't like that blurry part in front, you could have cropped higher. One still gets a good impression of that root crawling out above ground towards the viewer. Nice dof otherwise.

Nice nature shot, these tropical roots are very impressive and I expect you will not destroy it.
I like the composition with a proposal about the focus : just a little higher target, to have a bit more from the front sharp, but its just a detail.
Jean Michel

Another proof, not only of your capabilities, but also that whatever happens, nature will prevail.
You caught the interesting part in the DOF, so don't worry about the blur in the foreground.
Weak points we all have, but also the potential to explore learn and improve.
