Don't worry about the ISO400 too much, i don;t think it has done any damage :-)

Beautiful composition, the colours and the cloud layers are real nice to look at. I think you oversharpened a bit, Ramdan. The towers of the mosque have a distinct halo around them.
Weird that 400 ISO gave you noise problems. I see no noise here, will look again later on another screen. At 400 ISO my 350D performs nicely.
In general, shooting architecture or landscapes, setting a smaller aperture (a higher f-number) works best, as you said. But here f/6.3 works fine too.

what a beautiful evening capture of this beautiful 'floating' mosque. very majestic in a warm colour.

i'd prefer another cropping at the lower FG and the left embankment to show a more 'floating' effect of this mosque.

I keep looking and looking and I don't see any noise. I do see a halo around the towers but none on the dome so probably caused by the sun reflecting.
The reflection in the water is awesome. I think its perfect as is, so whaterver you did you dit it right.

This shot has all your skill of composition done in well executed manner. Very nice view of the mosque and reflection in calm water. Perhaps, I would lower the pov just slightly to include the full dome in reflection, if possible.

Assalammu'alaikum Ram,
Most of the times, technicalities take the backseat and stay there because it has served its purpose. Forget it might not be the best set up but there are times when you just have to accept what you have gotten for what it is. And even if you have had taken this at f/8 or higher, you would have to actually look deeper and probably with a nitpicking attitude to find the differences, or what is lacking with this shot.

My only nitpick grievance with this photo is the side of the lagoon shown at bottom. Removing it would give that much graphical focus to the mosque, a sense of "open" and its reflection on the golden surface.

Hi Ramdan,

I don't see why you have to complain about the quality of this photo. It looks perfectly sterling to me. If you could teach me how to take photo with an end result such as this, I would not bother to learn about HDR anymore.

Telling you the truth, I'm still not familiar with the selection of apertures. I do know that it controls the opening of the lens' 'eye', however, I'm not sure what does that actually do to the end result. I guess I'll learn more by studying more of the photos and information in TL.

i see that you have a great camera, and also a great skill in digital imaging, good combination, about this shot, its pretty well taken, some noise but well taken cared of, even with those setting the result is fine for me, maybe not good enough for large printing but excellent for a post here in tl, tfs
