They say, behind every man at every stages of his life, there is a woman somewhere nearby which pushes him in the right direction.
It wasn't always like that all the time. But it is always the right way, all the time.
I used to hate it when she screamed bloody murder when I was a kid, burning afternoon with kids in my village. It seems she had a radar or a mother early warning system whenever we were about to do something interesting. To her anything higher than our knees, faster than a walk, lower than our knees and further than the mosque was dangerous. And you should see her with her weapons. It was all about biology and psychology warfare to her. She could make any kids especially me, weak knee with her pinch. Or guilty for doing anything delinquent.
She got me through college, broken hearts and there was always something from her that made me stand up and walk again. Through tears and pains of the heart. I remembered a note with her squiggly handwriting saying how she believed in me. Even if I didn't believe in myself then, believing her was enough. That was years ago and somehow where and what I am, has her sweats and tears in me.
She is my number one fan now. Whenever there is an assignment that takes me home, she would make it a point to dress up and ask me to take her someplace nice and bright. She loves the seaside, the sunny vales and most of all, me. She is one model that I don't have to instruct how to pose. She just knows, how far she needs to be from me and where the light falls on her. She still believes in me strong enough to make me believe in myself.
I don't think I made this far without her screaming and flesh biting pinches when I was a running nose kid. Or being there when pretty young things from other families hurt my heart. Or taking the time to write me when she couldn't be there to say it.
Whether your mum is still there behind you or not, turn around. You never know, she is still watching and hoping for you.

This is a good portrait with a wonderful side light. Though I wish some more highlight on the shadow area. But it's not the most important here. It is the value of this portrait for you and for those who love their mom. Happy mothers day too >:D<
