Hello friends in TL,

My four year old son was sitting at the edge of a huge aquarium with a giant arapaima. He was really freaking out when the big fish came close to him. This was the first shot and you can guess what happened next. The water was darkened and some cloning of the flash was carried out before posting.

The arapaima, pirarucu, or paiche (Arapaima gigas) is a South American tropical freshwater fish. It is one of the largest freshwater fish in the world, reportedly with a maximum length in excess of 3 m (9.8 ft.) and weight up to 200 kg (440 lb.). As one of the most sought after food fish species in South America, it is often captured primarily by handheld nets for export, by spearfishing for local consumption, and, consequently, large arapaima of more than 2 m are seldom found in the wild today.

Hello Jusni,
In the thumbnail I got the impression this is an image of a small sardine cloned into the image of the boy..!
As it is no wonder your son looks a bit worried by the visit of this huge creature...
An interesting capture, where the two worlds are brought to a merger!
Greetings,

hi Jusni

This fish is always a good subject for its slow and elegant movement in water and silvery body and it does look scary from its sheer size. Good composition of part fish and part boy to see the interaction between them. PP work is effectively done and both subjects are focused well. Great work.

Assalamualaikum Jusni,

i have to view this post again and again before i am able to say my compliments. all is due to my speechlessness seeing this great shot!

a shot infront of an aquarium with the most minimum reflection, totally thrown out BG & perfect colour tones is indeed a great capture. very well done.

Hi Jusni, spectacullar photo, congratullations- TFS

Hi Jusni,

Great son you have - 4 years is very young to take in all those unknown things, like a huge fish coming towards you. Our 4 year old grandson also needed our assitance when he was allowed to stroke the owl.
The result of your shot is fantastic, as if both are moving in the same dark element.

Great job.

Hello Jus,
Ilike your creative mind on this. I was there but failed to burst into great thought like this one. Miss that big opportunity to shoot the fish in a very exciting and special way.
Brilliant thought.

Foozi

Assalamualaikum Jusni.
It has been a long time I didn't manage to make my time for TL, and your gallery as well. Lot of great shots I had missed and this one really attracts me, Jusni. I could not really describe what make/s me WOW with this, but surely I know this is a decisive challenging moment to be perfectly captured. Impressive, as you always do.

And the note... very informative.
Salam hormat,
Ramdan.
