[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Early June 2, our trekk group was supposed to penetrate the deep tropical rainforest jungle of Kampong Bengoh for 8 hours and then stay overnight in village and next day explore the primitive Bidayuh villages. But the heavy morning rain at 6am stopped the plan. Instead we drove to Kampung Bunan near Indonesian border and visited the Bidayuh village. We saw these sisters last year when the elder Charlene was shy and stayed away mostly, this year, the reverse happened. The younger Charmaine kept covering her face.

This was taken at the Cultural Center near the door by natural filtered light. I find Charmaine's reaction very interesting contrast to the smile of Charlene and capture this moment to show the innocence of children. It is a joy looking at them behaving so carefree and loving to each other. After this, the girls went to nearby village stream and had fun swimming for 1.5 hour. Needless to say, our group had a fund time at this village.

P/S - Bidayuh girls are said to be pretty, so when these 2 grow up, I can imagine they will be great models. I note too, these 2 were actually posing for another TL shooter, I simply tagged along to snap the scene. Very seldom I would ask for a portrait and direct people in front of the lens to pose, I would just stand beside the MAIN photographer and see whatever moment I can capture. However, in the case of my Mum, I normally ask her to ready herself for my camera. Thank you for viewing.

Lovely capture bill, particularly of Sharlene of course - it's her photograph! A pretty girl and her eyes are beautifully captured with great catchlights.
Good crisp detail with the slow shutter speed, and nice saturation also.
I like it!

Very Lovely child portrait, Bill.
Indeed the different reaction makes it an interresting looking picture.
The pink clour of Charlene's shirt adds a lot to make te picture a pleasure to look ad.
Greetings from Holland.

Hi Bill,

Great capture. You really did capture the innocence of these two girls especially shy Charmaine. Such honest smiles and reaction to a camera lense. Skin tone colours are pretty spot on and I think natural light will always be the best source of light in photography.

TFS.

Alvin
