Dear Friends,

im so glad tl can be opened again.. huhu.. i was in the middle of commenting Tricia picture this afternoon when tl disappeared :D

this is my contribution for this week theme.. thanks Smurfie for the fun again.. :) this is the windows of Jesselton Hotel of Gaya Street.. i changed it into sepia because i think it look better.. the original is in WS.. which do you guys prefer? :) i only do a little bit cropped trying to balance the space near the windows but still it look like that.. hmm.. tilted?

A bit about Jesselton Hotel..

The Jesselton Hotel, located in the historic heart of Kota Kinabalu, promises a unique experience. The hotel maintains a small, personal boutique hotel and since opening its doors in 1954 its had a major refurbishment and an additional floor was added to this 2 storey building.

The Jesselton Hotel retains the serenity of bygone days, while offering all the conveniences of a modern hotel. An ideal location in the heart of the banking and financial centre of Kota Kinabalu.

As soon as guests are escorted by the doorman into the marble-floored lobby of the hotel, they begin to experience the special ambience. Elegant yet comfortable, in the style of a refined English Country house.

This hotel has played host to Pope Paul 2 and Muhammad Ali in the earlier years. Lady Mountbatten even dined here.

thanks for looking.. hope you like it..

cheers, terry

Hi Nong,
Dua-dua isy'syantik.

Hi Terry,
Thsi is afine "aed" image. The soft sepia tone works perfect here. A fine composition, the part of the tree in the right hand upper corner creates a nice ballance. Well presented in the tiny white frame.

Hi Terry

A nice sepia conversion of the hotel with good repetition of windows, for the theme. Excellent sharpness, & have a great weekend!

Hi Terry,

I like you sepia treatment for this photo. Feels like we've gone back to the years gone by.. except that Ninja King 4WDs didn't exist then. Great work with the PP and photo Terry.

TFS.

Alvin

Hi Terry,
First of all, congratulations on your 200th post, well done.
I like the lighting and the perspective here, and the way you framed the building with the trees on the right.
It is an interesting building, and you show it off well.
Pete.

Hello Terry,

Seems like a pleasant hotel!
Surprised to see it is as new as 1954 as I would guess it is older...
Effective point of view giving the image a fine sense of depth, post processing adds to the atmosphere!

Greetings,
Pablo -

ciao Terry..
so good the choise of b&w.. nice the detail.. with an interesting old mood created!! perfect contribution for the friday theme!! well done!
ciao Marco
;) soon

Hi Terry, when you look up with the camera you get that tilted look - but I think that's no problem here.
Lovely windows in a lovely hotel that is slightly younger then I am.
Like the colourtones here.
