[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My appreciation to Bill (trekks) for his post, something that triggered and injected a kind of refreshment to me, for the idea of being here, 'Treklensing'.

Seen here is Bill (in red) in action, making photos of the Kipungit Waterfall, Poring Hot Spring. His visit to Sabah was with another Trek members from Sarawak (Jong & Alfred) gathering with our Sabahan Trek members; me, Rabani and Fadzilaffendy.

Thank you Bill.

Regards,
Ramdan

hi Ramdan

That red souvenir tee shirt was great for this occasion but I had given it away to her just before departure of that Shanghai girl from our short meet, just to help her remember her day with us. The amazing thing is, Ramdan, you clicked 1/8s and the whole photo is in sharp focus, so good a moment that the photographer was still for your capture. That is the skill of shooting, no? The waterfall composition is flawless (oh, maybe that person blocked by the branch) with the smooth flow and fine exposure of the foilage.

Thank you really so much for this, I feel humbled by this post. Little did I realise that I became a subject here in front of waterfall; I thought the whole group was shooting up from below and walked over the rocks to get a sneak peek of the group. If you sell this photo, please think of royalty :)

In fact, many of your and Rabani's posts on TL are what I call PfB, because you really give very detailed description and pointers on your shooting technique, so it has been very useful for viewers especially beginners (let me term 'beginner' correctly being those in 'Welcome Gallery' and photos which are not generating more than 4 points). I think PfB is a way to help myself too.

thanks again for sharing, bill

Hi Ramdan,
I love this POV of the falls. The detail in the picture is very good. I noiced that the exposure 1/8 yet Bill and the others are in excellent focus. The water looks great thanks to the slow SS. Excellent work.
Regards,
Kevin

i don't know whom/what to choose - the guy in red T-shirt or the falling water - for both are appealing to the eyes! Bill will perhaps chooses the silky falling water, or both....:)
a very impressive image; very effective composition with a slow shutter speed that yields a perfect and adorable outcome. my congratulation!

Assalamuallaikum Ramdan,

Sudah 23 hari puasa. Berat badanpun sudah turun. Anyway..silky milky waterfall memang sungguh cantik dgn persekitaran yang segar. Composition yang menarik.

Assalammualaikum Ram.
I'm the black sheep for saying this but black sheeps don't dance in the rain. And as one of the running jokes here among us, points and smileys count more than honest observation for improvement.

Just about everything in your work here Ram, composition, focus, most colors etc is good. It is just the color of the falling water that bothers me, especially on the upper part of the waterfall where the water appeared "burnt".

It's ok to have shadows and not able to see its detail. Shadow gives depth while light gives definition. And sometimes, shadow is the best guide to express what are on the bright side.

Honestly

Ramdan Hi:
Marvelous compositon, splendid colors of nature (and Bill), wonderful PoV and clarity of details.
Thanks for the note, as well
Congratulations, very nicely composed and presented
